AWS Marketplace with Secon: A Short Guide

How to purchase via AWS Marketplace with the Secon.

When purchasing via AWS Marketplace with the assistance of Secon, you have three main scenarios:

  • Scenario 1: You have an AWS Account
  • Scenario 2: You don’t have an AWS Account
  • Scenario 3: You need more assistance from Secon

Scenario 1: You have an AWS Account.

If you have an AWS account, after you, the vendor and Secon agree on commercial terms and scope, the process is as follows:

  1. You provide your AWS Account number to Secon. It is a 12-digit number, such as 012345678901, that uniquely identifies an AWS account.
    • If you don’t know your account ID:
      • Check your browser history. If you have signed in previously, it could be stored in your recent web sites.
      • If you have configured the AWS CLI or an AWS SDK with your account credentials, you can obtain your account ID from your configuration files.
      • Ask your local administrator or account owner, AWS can’t provide account IDs to users.
  2. Secon requests a private offer from the desired vendor.
  3. The private offer, in line with your scope, is loaded on the AWS system from the vendor.
  4. Secon will notify you once the offer has been loaded for your acceptance.
  5. You will receive an email from AWS Marketplace indicating “You have a new Private Offer”
  6. You log into your AWS Account, reviews contract and terms.
  7. You accept the offer.

Scenario 2: You don’t have an AWS Account.

If you do not have AWS account, an account can be created by following the steps below:

There are several reasons that you might need some assistance such as:
